Get Up Close to the World of Birds
International Migratory BIRD DAY 2017
Saturday, May 13, 10 am to 1 pm
Brewer Park (Bronson Ave. across from Carleton University)
FREE, Family-friendly, Fun
Watch an owl fly silently to a perch and learn how they manage to be so quiet. Discover special places along the Rideau River that shelter birds, and why they need our protection. Hear storytellers share a bird’s migration journey and other fascinating bird tales.
Activities include guided bird-watching walks, a nature scavenger hunt and games. Trained hawks and owls will be part of a predatory bird demonstration, and local groups will be on hand to share more information about the incredible lives of birds and how we can help them.
Co-hosted by Nature Canada and the Canadian Biodiversity Institute. More info at http://naturecanada.ca/initiatives/bird-day/
