RSCA Canada Day Celebration – 2017

The 2017 edition of the Riverside South Canada Day festivities will celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday and is poised to be our biggest and best yet!
The community’s premier summer event is hosted by the Riverside South Community Association, marking the 15th year the association has hosted the annual celebration. Not only do we have a fantastic line up of activities during the day, but we also have an amazing evening program including professional fireworks!

Fun for the Whole Family 10:00am to 2:00pm at Claudette Cain Park
Please make your way to south entrance of the park to purchase fun passes and food tickets. Fun passes are required for all children ages 3-12 to access the rides.

FUN PASSES ($10/each):
Includes unlimited access for children ages 3+ to the rides and entertainment at the event (excludes Pony Rides and food, which can be purchased separately). Pre-purchased fun passes can be picked up at the event starting at 9:45 in an express line.
Children over 12 and adults are free.

ENTERTAINMENT & PRESENTATIONS:

  • Battle of the Bands 10am-1pm (main stage)
  • Junkyard Symphony “Giants of Junk” 11am-12pm plus 30 minute workshop (south field)
  • Singing of O Canada 1pm (main stage)
  • Speeches by local politicians 1:10 (main stage)
  • Cake Cutting 1:30pm (main stage)

FOOD & BEVERAGES:
The BBQ is operated by volunteers and all food and drinks donated courtesy of Moncion’s Independent Grocer for the 13th year. The BBQ will be operational from 11:00am to 2:00pm. Food prices are listed below:

  • Hamburger or Veggie Burger = 2 tickets ($2.00)
  • Hot Dog = 1 ticket ($1.00)
  • Pop or Water = 1 ticket ($1.00)
  • 2 juice boxes = 1 ticket ($1.00)

Ice Cream: Merry Dairy is coming out to cool you off and tantalize your taste buds with a wonderful collection of ice cream!
Cake: We will celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday with a cake cutting starting at approx. 1:30pm

PARKING:
The south parking lot next to the splash pad is restricted access (handicap and special parking), and the north parking lot will be barricaded, but attendees are welcome to use Moncion’s parking lot or the Riverview Park and Ride.
