Steve MacLean P.S. Destination Imagination Team representing Canada at the Global Finals Tournament May 22 to 26/18 – Go Team Go!!!

Exciting news in the hood. Steve MacLean Public School is sending a team of six students from grade 4 to 6 to Knoxville Tennessee to represent Canada in the Destination Imagination Global Finals Tournament. There will be 30 countries represented at this international competition.

What a spirited group of talented caring students who claim much of their success has been achieved through their great teamwork. Their team challenge focused on the need to care and support the animals at the Ottawa Humane Society. They beam with pride at how their message has resonated with the folks who have watched their presentation.

Team Steve MacLean have a safe and fun experience in Knoxville Tennessee. One they will definitely remember.

The Steve Maclean P.S. Destination Imagination Team is raising funds to help offset the travel cost, tournament fees, housing and food expenses. Let’s see what we in Riverside South can do to help raise funds to send this team of six students to Knoxville Tennessee. Contact the school to find out how you can help

RSCA Community Garden

The RSCA are pleased to share details of the new RSCA community garden on Spratt.  For this first year the garden will initially be made up of 20, 10 x 10 plots.  In coming years we will look to increase this based on demand.  Water will be provided but gardeners are asked to use watering cans so that we maximize water efficiency.  There is parking on site but no storage facilities and gardeners will need to bring their own tools to work with.

We are waiting for an exact date for opening but anticipate the first week in June.  If you have any questions please contact us at communitygarden@riversidesouth.org or find us on facebook at RCSA Community Garden
