You are invited to attend the final Open House for the Leitrim Road Realignment and Widening (River Road to Bank Street) Environmental Assessment Study. The City of Ottawa is conducting this study to identify the right-of-way requirements for the project, protect the corridor and inform the ongoing planning and development of adjacent lands.

The study is being undertaken in accordance with the Ontario Environmental Assessment (EA) Act, fulfilling requirements as a Municipal Class EA planning process for a Schedule C project. The EA process includes developing, assessing and evaluating alternatives, leading to a Recommended Plan including a functional design and an estimate of capital and operating costs for implementation.

The purpose of the Open House is to:

  • Provide a project update as a follow-up to the consultations held in September 2017
  • Summarize the evaluation results of alternative designs
  • Present the draft recommended plan
  • Obtain feedback.

Your participation in the Open House is an important component of the consultation efforts through which you can discuss the project with the study team and provide feedback on the proposed plan before it is presented to the City’s Transportation Committee and Council for approval in spring 2018.

Further information on the Leitrim Road Realignment and Widening EA Study is available at All of the Open House information will be available on the website.

Interested persons can provide comments throughout the EA process. Any comments received will be collected under the EA Act and, with the exception of personal information, will become part of the public record. Public input and comment on the information presented at the February 28, 2018 Open House will be received until March 15, 2018.

Accessibility is an important consideration for the City of Ottawa.  If you require special accommodation, please call or email the City of Ottawa Project Manager, below, before the event.
