RSCA Canada Flag Program

The RSCA is continuing on the success of its Canada Flag program that was started in 2017 in celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday! This initiative was inspired by a program hosted by the 5th Orangeville Scouts. The purpose is to inspire national pride by putting up Canadian flags at participants’ homes on key Canadian holidays. The flags would be installed on lawns by volunteers in the week preceding Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic Holiday, Labour Day, Thanksgiving and Remembrance Day, and then removed in the week after.

The flag poles are made of PVC pipe fitted over rebar that will be pounded about 1 foot into your front lawn. The PVC pipe and rebar will be removed after the holiday, and put back up on the next holiday. Unless otherwise requested, all flag poles will be installed approximately 3 feet from the curb and 3 feet from your driveway.

The cost for this service is $25 per year.   These fees will be used to purchase the supplies for the program, and any money left over will be used to fund other RSCA initiatives within the community. So, you will not only be showing off your love for our great country, but you will also be helping your community in the process!

A big thank you to Ward Councillor Michael Qaquish, MPP Lisa MacLeod and MP Pierre Poilievre for helping with the supplies to get this program off the ground!
